Sara Brincher Galbiati, Peter Helles Eriksen and Tobias Selnaes Markussen - a collective of three Danish photographers - received the Forhanna grant for their project 'The Merge'. They will show the latest chapter of the project 'Scenes from a simulated reality' at BredaPhoto Festival.
The Merge, scenes from a simulated reality
‘The Merge’ is an in-depth investigation into artificial intelligence and robotics. Through a photographic exploration, the photographers collective examines the possibility that we might all live in a simulation. Could it be that our world is a construction, a created illusion? At BredaPhoto Sara, Peter and Tobias will be presenting their project ‘The Merge, scenes from a simulated reality’. A futuristic scenario that encourages a wider debate about the future of artificial intelligence and robotica.
This research project came about in close cooperation between the curators of BredaPhoto and production house Forhanna. Forhanna was founded by documentary photographer and artist Willem Poelstra. With ForHanna Poelstra is committed to making journalistic, scientific documentary (image) productions, of talented image makers possible. The project by Brincher Galbiati, Helles Eriksen and Selnaes Markuss was selected by means of a joint Open Call with the 2018 theme of BredaPhoto as its focus.
