Lucie Marsmann’s project ULLA & WILLI is the first stage in an ongoing occupation with the private photographic archive of her maternal grandparents. It denotes a personal perspective on family and relationship(s). Her grandparents’ ritual to continuously photograph each other, is the scope for a new reading of the archive. Its combination with new images of memorabilia and locations results in a focused view on their practice of self-presentation. Memories triggered by images as well as objects to which memories are connected, are constituent elements of this work in progress.
